The article gives a comparative view of both the Radhanagar Beach in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and experience of travelling in house-boats in Alleppey in Kerala.

Whenever travellers from different destinations had been interviewed always that had said that beach destinations are the most attractive destinations. Firstly the water bodies create a soothing climate which is bearable for all sections of the society.

Secondly as opposed to hilly destinations there is less climbing exercises and those exercises which make the body tired.

In that backdrop the backwater of Alleppey in Kerala can be compared with the Radhanagar Beach in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Alleppey is called the Venice of the East.

The backwaters are surrounded by coconut trees, mango orchards and other trees. The visitors prefer staying in house-boats in the backwaters of Alleppey. The house-boats have every form of amenities.

Visitors can have bath have breakfast lunch and dinner within the houseboats. There are in-built bathrooms and in-built kitches within the houseboats.

On cloudy days the scenery is even more beautiful. Visitors can feel the coconuts in the trees, and touch the mangoes within the mango trees. Truly Kerala is God’s own country.

As far as Radhanagar Beach is concerned, it is another paradise. The white sands are just like talcum powder. There are colourful sea creatures which are harmless. Sea- shells are found in the beaches having all the colours of rainbow.

The beaches are lovely in the morning and in the evening. Both the sunrise and sunset is absolutely majestic. The winds, the clouds the sands make people feel in heaven.

The sea waters are also warm and not very cold. Andaman and Nicobar Islands are very close to the equator and for those reasons in the winter months like November and December, the visitors feel the weather is very ideal for travelling.

There are also beautiful beaches in the vicinity of Radhanagar Beach called the Elephant Beach and the Dolphin Beach.

It is very difficult to compare and mention which experience is better. Those who stay in the house-boats in Alleppey in the backwaters have one type of experience. Those who come to Radhanagar Beach they get secluded from the civilised world and can enjoy the loneliness.

Especially people who live in metros in different parts of the world, like solitude. That is provided more in the Radhanagar Beach. From Port Blair Sinpaporean modelled Macruze ships take visitors to Radhanaga Beach in Havelock Island. In fact the journey in a ship surrounded by sea water is an experience by itself.

If visitors get an opportunity they should both visit the backwaters in Alleppey and the sea beaches at Radhanagar Beach in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
