In India nature had created certain bewildering beauty having unique features. The state Meghalaya is a place where the clouds play with the hills and the natural habitats. The place for which the state of Meghalaya astonishes the tourists is Cherrapunjee. The place was famous for having the highest rainfall in the world. The local people call it Sohra. But the waterfalls in the area including Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Falls haunt all the tourists.

The Eco-park which shares the borders of Bangladesh is probably the most romantic place of North-East India. For most part of the day the land is filled with mist, but the moment the sky gets clear and the fog disappears, the lush green valley fringed with clear blue water takes everyone to paradise. The entry fee is very nominal. Very peculiarly every activity in Shillong and Cherrapunjee is done by the women folk of the place. The major tribe inhabiting the state includes the khasis and in fact they have the tradition of bringing the groom into the house of the bride. So in most of the shops, hotels, the main spokesmen, accountant, manager includes the women folk. As far as the natural habitat of Cherrapunjee is concerned the haunting caves will make any one flabbergasted. The Mausmai caves are famous all over the world for its diverse flora and fauna. The roof of the cave is at such a low height, that tourists lose their breath in entering the cave and coming out of it. The birds and animals which adorn the habitat include civets, mongooses, rodents, bats, magpie-robin, hill myna, red-vented bulbul, etc. Among plants shorea robusta (sal), tectona grandis (teak), epiphytes, parasites, succulent plants infest the dark caves. The jostling of the birds and insects creates a spooky flavor for the tourists. The Bhagmara Sanctuary is also famous for the Pitcher Plant, (Nepenthese Khasiana) which eats insects. Besides, the Duwan Sing Syiem View Point, near Dympep, in Cherrapunjee provides the most haunting sites of the world. The place has mist and due all through the year. Neither the water body flowing down under can be seen, nor the bridge, nor the tea-stalls nearby. The visibility level is zero. It is famous all over the world as the place having highest mist and dew. The tea provided in those tea-stalls, from tea leaves of Shillong, Assam and Darjeeling takes the visitors to a different world. Visitors should spare their own time and see the bewildering beauty of Cherrapunjee.
